Sure you could have called a locksmith! But they'd just charge you a fortune to come take a look and then replace your lovely old period perfect lock in your period perfect home with some shiny new horrible modern replacement from China. Whereas I can take that old lock apart, investigate what the problem is and repair it. So, not only do save yourself haveing to buy a new lock, you also don't have to mangle your nice old door to make it fit. Plus you keep the original character of the door intact. I love fixing old things:) They're usually far more durable and better made than modern versions too. So if you need help saving anything at all, give me a bell.
